2-4 Brake: Removal
- Remove the transmission assembly from the vehicle. Refer to
REMOVAL , Automatic Transmission Assembly.
- Extract the torque converter clutch assembly. Refer to
REMOVAL , Torque Converter Clutch Assembly.
- Remove the input shaft.

- Disconnect the air breather hose. Refer to
REMOVAL , Air Breather Hose.
- Lift-up lever behind the transmission harness connector and disconnect it from stay.
- Disconnect inhibitor switch connector from stay.
- Remove the oil charger pipe. Refer to
REMOVAL , Oil Charger Pipe.
- Remove the oil cooler inlet and outlet pipes with washers. Refer to
REMOVAL , ATF Cooler Pipe and Hose.
- Remove rear vehicle speed sensor, and separate the transmission case and extension case. Refer to
REMOVAL , Extension Case.
- Remove reduction driven gear. Refer to
REMOVAL , Reduction Driven Gear.
- Separation of torque converter clutch case and transmission case. Refer to
REMOVAL , Torque Converter Clutch Case.
- Remove the oil pan and control valve body. Refer to
REMOVAL , Control Valve Body.
- Remove the oil pump housing. Refer to
REMOVAL , Oil Pump.
- Remove 2-4 brake seal.

- Take out the high clutch and reverse clutch assembly. Refer to
REMOVAL , High Clutch and Reverse Clutch.
- Take out the thrust needle bearing, planetary gear assembly and the low clutch assembly. Refer to
REMOVAL , Planetary Gear and Low Clutch.
- Remove snap ring.

- Take out 2-4 brake return spring.

- Remove the 2-4 brake piston and piston retainer without damaging.
