Steering Angle Sensor: Removal

  1. Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

  2. Remove the airbag module. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Driver's Airbag Module. >
    WARNING: Always refer to "AIRBAG SYSTEM " before performing the airbag module service.

  3. Remove the steering wheel nut.
    NOTE: Steering wheel must be removed at the straight ahead position.

  4. Then draw out the steering wheel from shaft using steering puller.

  5. Remove the screw securing steering column lower cover.

  6. Remove the two screws securing steering column upper cover.
  7. Release the lock of harness band and disconnect the connector of steering angle sensor.

  8. Remove the bolts which hold roll connector and steering angle sensor onto steering column.

  9. Remove the roll connector and steering angle sensor.

    NOTE: Do not turn the steering angle sensor as it's center position has been recognized by VDCCM.
