Air Bleeding of Control Valve: Procedure

Set the select lever to the "P" range and apply the parking brake, then raise the vehicle on a lift.
Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to the vehicle.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check that there is no DTC being output.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, check that the ATF temperature is less than 60°C (140°F). < Ref. to OPERATION , Subaru Select Monitor. >
Turn the Subaru Select Monitor power to OFF.
Disengage manual mode, then turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Set the select lever to "R" range.
Depress the brake pedal fully until the air bleeding is completed.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Shift the select lever to the "P" range, and wait for more than 3 seconds.
Shift the select lever to "R" range, and wait for more than 3 seconds.
Shift the select lever to "N" range, and wait for more than 3 seconds.
Shift the select lever to "D" range, and wait for more than 3 seconds.
Shift the select lever to "N" range, and wait for more than 3 seconds.
Slowly depress the accelerator pedal to full open.
Slowly release the accelerator pedal to full close.
Start the engine.
Set the select lever to the "D" range.
Turn the Subaru Select Monitor power to ON.
Select {Each System Check} in the Main Menu of the Subaru Select Monitor.
On the System Selection Menu display screen, select "Transmission". Air bleed of the control valve will start in the transmission. At this time, the SPORT indicator light in the combination meter blinks at 2 Hz. When the SPORT indicator light does not blink, repeat the procedures from step 4).
Air bleed of the control valve is complete when the SPORT indicator light in the combination meter turns off, from blinking at 2 Hz.
NOTE: When blinking of SPORT indicator light changes from 2 Hz to 4 Hz during air bleed, repeat the procedures from step 4).
Set the select lever to the "N" range, and then turn the ignition switch to OFF.
Set the select lever to the "P" range. The air bleed operation is complete.
