Section 2 (Engine Intake System (H4DOTC)): Turbocharger: Removal

Set the vehicle on a lift.
Remove the collector cover.
Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Lift up the vehicle.
Drain approximately 3.0 Q (3.2 US qt, 2.6 lmp qt) of coolant. Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant.
Lower the vehicle.
Remove the intercooler. Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler.
Remove the center exhaust pipe. Ref. to REMOVAL , Center Exhaust Pipe.
Lower the vehicle.
Separate the turbocharger joint pipe from turbocharger.

Disconnect the engine coolant hose which is connected to coolant filler tank.

Disconnect the air control hose (A), and loosen the clamp holding the turbocharger to the intake duct.

Remove the oil inlet pipe from the turbocharger.

Disconnect the engine coolant hose from the water pipe.

Disconnect the oil outlet hose from the oil outlet pipe.

Take out the turbocharger from engine compartment.
Remove the turbocharger stay.
