Section 2 (Engine Intake System (H4DOTC)): Turbocharger: Removal

- Set the vehicle on a lift.
- Remove the collector cover.
- Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Drain approximately 3.0 Q (3.2 US qt, 2.6 lmp qt) of coolant. Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the intercooler. Ref. to REMOVAL , Intercooler.
- Remove the center exhaust pipe. Ref. to REMOVAL , Center Exhaust Pipe.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Separate the turbocharger joint pipe from turbocharger.
- Disconnect the engine coolant hose which is connected to coolant filler tank.
- Disconnect the air control hose (A), and loosen the clamp holding the turbocharger to the intake duct.
- Remove the oil inlet pipe from the turbocharger.
- Disconnect the engine coolant hose from the water pipe.
- Disconnect the oil outlet hose from the oil outlet pipe.
- Take out the turbocharger from engine compartment.
- Remove the turbocharger stay.
