Basic Diagnostic Procedure

1 INITIAL CHECK. Check keyless entry system.	Does the keyless entry system operate normally?	Go to step 2 .	Check the keyless entry control module. Ref. to INSPECTION , Keyless Entry System.
2 CHECK SECURITY ON/OFF SETTING. Remove the key from ignition switch, and then close all doors. Press the UNLOCK button of the keyless transmitter. Check the blinking pattern of security indicator light.	Does the security indicator light blinks at 3 seconds intervals?	Go to step 3 .	Check the security indicator light circuit. Ref. to CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT CIRCUIT , INSPECTION, Security System.
3 CHECK SECURITY ON/OFF SETTING. Press the LOCK button of the keyless transmitter. Check the blinking pattern of security indicator light.	Does the security indicator light blinks in the following pattern?/When monitor delay set to 0 second: Blinks twice in 0.5 seconds at 2 seconds intervals/When monitor delay set to 30 seconds: Repeat blinking once in 30 seconds at 0.4 seconds intervals	Go to step 6 .	Go to step 4 .
4 CHANGE SECURITY SYSTEM SETTING. Change the security system setting to ON. Ref. to SECURITY SYSTEM ON/OFF SETTING , INSPECTION, Security System.	Is the setting change implemented normally?	Go to step 5 .	Check the ignition switch circuit. Ref. to CHECK IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT , INSPECTION, Security System. Check the door lock switch circuit. Ref. to CHECK DOOR LOCK SWITCH , INSPECTION, Keyless Entry System.
5 CHECK SECURITY SYSTEM SETTING CHANGE. Remove the key from ignition switch, and then close all doors. Press the LOCK button of the keyless transmitter. Check the blinking pattern of security indicator light.	Does the security indicator light blinks in the following pattern?/When monitor delay set to 0 second: Blinks twice in 0.5 seconds at 2 seconds intervals/When monitor delay set to 30 seconds: Repeat blinking once in 30 seconds at 0.4 seconds intervals	Go to step 6 .	Check the security indicator light. Ref. to CHECK SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT CIRCUIT , INSPECTION, Security System.
6 CHECK SECURITY SYSTEM OPERATION. Press the LOCK button of keyless transmitter, and wait for 30 seconds.	Does the security indicator light blink twice in 0.5 seconds at 2 seconds intervals?	Go to step 7 .	Replace the body integrated unit. Ref. to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .
7 CHECK SECURITY ALARM OPERATION. Using the door lock switch on the driver's door, unlock all doors. Open any door, trunk or rear gate.	Does the security alarm operate when opening any door, trunk, or rear gate?	Go to step 8 .	Check the door switches, trunk lid switch or rear gate latch switch. Ref. to CHECK DOOR SWITCH , INSPECTION, Keyless Entry System.
8 CHECK SECURITY ALARM OPERATION. Check the security alarm operation.	Do all security alarms operate?/horn activation/hazard light flashing/security indicator light activation	Go to step 9 .	Check the horn. Ref. to CHECK HORN , INSPECTION, Security System. Check the hazard light. Ref. to CHECK HAZARD LIGHT OPERATION , INSPECTION, Security System.
9 CHECK SECURITY ALARM CANCEL OPERATION. While the security alarm is operating, press any button on the keyless transmitter, or turn the ignition switch to ON.	Do all security alarms stop?/horn/hazard light	Go to step 10 .	Check the ignition switch circuit. Ref. to CHECK IGNITION SWITCH CIRCUIT , INSPECTION, Security System.
10 CHECK SECURITY SYSTEM STATUS MEMORY. Check if the system functions normally even when the battery is temporarily disconnected. Ref. to CHECK SECURITY SYSTEM CONDITION MEMORY , INSPECTION, Security System.	Does the system function normally even when the battery is temporarily disconnected?	Go to step 11 .	Replace the body integrated unit. Ref. to BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .
11 CHECK IMPACT SENSOR (DEALER OPTION). Check the sensitivity of impact sensor. Ref. to CHECK IMPACT SENSOR , ADJUSTMENT, Impact Sensor.	Is the sensitivity set appropriately?	Press the UNLOCK button of keyless transmitter, and finish the diagnosis.	Adjust the sensitivity appropriately. Ref. to IMPACT SENSITIVITY ADJUSTMENT , ADJUSTMENT, Impact Sensor.

NOTE: If any of the following symptoms emerges, check the function settings of body integrated unit. Ref. to USER CUSTOMIZING .

Horn does not sound though security alarm is activated. A possible cause for this is that the « Security Alarm Setup» has been set to ON by the customization function.
Horn sounds when the security is set to ON (monitoring) by the keyless transmitter. A possible cause for this is that the impact sensor presence setting (ON: present, OFF: not present) has been set to ON by the customization function though no impact sensor is fitted.
