Chain Cover: Removal

- Drain the engine oil. Refer to ENGINE OIL .
- Lift up the vehicle.
- Remove the under cover. Refer to FRONT UNDER COVER .
- Drain engine coolant. Refer to ENGINE COOLANT .
- Remove the front exhaust pipe. Refer to FRONT EXHAUST PIPE .
- Lower the vehicle.
- Change the bolt mounting position from (A) to (B), and completely open the front hood.
Tightening torque:
20 N.m (2.0 kgf-m, 14.8 ft-lb)
- Remove the air intake duct. Refer to AIR INTAKE DUCT .
- Remove the air intake boot assembly. Refer to AIR INTAKE BOOT .
- Disconnect the engine harness connector.
- Disconnect the connector from the throttle body.
- Remove the engine harness connector from the engine hanger bracket.
- Remove the engine hanger bracket.
- Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold.NOTE: Do not disconnect the inlet and outlet hoses of engine coolant.
- Attach the ST.
ST 18360AA020 HANGER
Tightening torque:
19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)
- Remove the V-belts. Refer to , REMOVAL , V-belt.
- Remove the crank pulley. Refer to , REMOVAL , Crank Pulley.
- Remove the grille bracket.NOTE: Remove ten clips when removing the grille bracket.
- Remove the reservoir tank. Refer to RESERVOIR TANK .
- Remove the radiator main fan & fan motor and radiator sub fan & fan motor. Refer to RADIATOR MAIN FAN AND FAN MOTOR .
- Remove the radiator. Refer to RADIATOR .
- Support the engine with a lifting device and wire ropes.
- Remove the front mount from the chain cover.
- Remove the front mounting bracket from the cradle.
- Remove the oil cooler pipe from the chain cover.
- Remove the chain cover.NOTE: Chain cover installation bolt has three different sizes. To prevent the confusion in installation, keep these bolts on container individually.
