How To Troubleshoot

  1. Bring in the car
  2. Interview and phenomenon check
    1. Phenomenon check
  3. Check the warning light
    1. Check CAN communication system. (Refer to HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT )

    The airbag warning light illuminates. A
    The airbag warning light does not illuminate. B

    B: Perform the diagnosis according to the trouble phenomenon

    A: Go to next step

  4. Read the DTC
    1. Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
    2. Connect the Subaru Select Monitor to data link connector.
    3. Turn the ignition switch to ON and start the Subaru Select Monitor.
    4. Read the DTC.
      NOTE: Check the communication circuit if the communication function of the Subaru Select Monitor does not function normally.
    5. Record all DTCs and failure status information.
    RESULT DESCRIPTION

    Result Go to
    DTC is detected. A
    No DTC is detected B

    B: Perform the inspection by referring to "Fault in the airbag warning light".

    A: Go to next step

  5. Perform diagnosis
    1. Use the list of diagnostic codes to determine the cause of the fault.
    2. Perform inspection according to the diagnostic code.
    3. Repair the cause of trouble.
    4. Delete the diagnostic code.
    5. Execute the check mode.
    6. Confirm that no other DTC is detected.

    No DTC is detected B

    B: Complete the diagnosis.

    A: Go to next step

    Perform steps (1) to (5) of Step 5.
