For vehicles equipped with type "A" audio systems (Clarion), it is necessary to push the CD/Aux button so the system will recognize a device is plugged in and begin charging. All other audio system functions are still available during the charging process. On type "B" and "D" audio systems, the device is automatically recognized as soon as it is plugged in.
