Rear Disc Brake Assembly: Installation

NOTE: Before installation, remove mud and foreign matter from the disc brake assembly.
  1. Check each part. < Ref. to INSPECTION , Rear Disc Brake Assembly. >
  2. Install the support - rear disc brake to the housing assembly - rear axle.

    Tightening torque: 

    66 N.m (6.7 kgf-m, 48.7 ft-lb) 

  3. Install the caliper body assembly.

    Tightening torque: 

    25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb) 

  4. Connect the brake hose using a new brake hose gasket.

    Tightening torque: 

    Union bolt: 26 N.m (2.7 kgf-m, 19.2 ft-lb) 

  5. Install the parking brake actuator. < Ref. to PARKING BRAKE ACTUATOR , INSTALLATION, Parking Brake Actuator. >
  6. Bleed air from the brake system. < Ref. to BRAKE LINE , PROCEDURE, Air Bleeding. >
  7. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. < Ref. to BATTERY , NOTE, Repair Contents. >
  8. Using the Subaru Select Monitor, exit the brake maintenance mode according to the display screen. < Ref. to BRAKE MAINTENANCE MODE , OPERATION, Parking Brake System. >
    NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Application help".
  9. After the operation is completed, apply and release the parking brake five times and ensure that the brake operates normally.
  10. Install the rear wheels.

    Tightening torque: 

    120 N.m (12.2 kgf-m, 88.5 ft-lb)
