Inspection steps

CAUTION:
Perform this procedure after performing until STEP 9 in "How to troubleshoot". (Refer to HOW TO TROUBLESHOOT
)
- Check CAN communication circuit
- Check CAN communication circuit. (Refer to CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT
)
Criteria: No fault is found.
NO: Follow the repair procedure described in "CAN communication circuit check".
YES: Go to Next Step
- Check CAN communication circuit. (Refer to CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT
)
- Check DTC
- Start the engine.
- Use SSM3 to read DTC detected on CAN system.
Criteria: U0073 is not output
NO: Perform the diagnosis of U0073. (Refer to DTC U0073 CAN FAILURE/A SYSTEM BUS OFF DETECTION )
YES: Go to Next Step
- Check DTC
- Use SSM3 to read DTC detected on CAN system.
Criteria: U1201 is output
NO: A temporary communication error may have occurred. Clear the memory.
YES: Go to Next Step
- Use SSM3 to read DTC detected on CAN system.
- Check DTC
- Turn the ignition switch OFF and then ON again.
- Use SSM3 to read DTC detected on CAN system.
Criteria: U1201 is output
NO: A temporary communication error may have occurred. Clear the memory.
YES: Go to Next Step
- Check control module
- Turn the ignition switch to OFF.
- Disconnect the control modules in the proper sequence.NOTE: When disconnecting ECM or brake actuator assembly, connect the resistance of 120 Ωbetween CAN-Hi and CAN-Lo to substitute a termination resistor.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON.
- Use SSM3 to read DTC detected on CAN system.
Criteria: U1201 is no longer output
NO: Repeat Step 5 until U1201 is not detected.
YES: Replace the control module which has been removed when no DTC is output.
