Inspection steps

  1. Reading SSM3 data
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Use SSM3 to display the [Current Data Display & Save] screen according to the screen display and check the computer data recorded when the SPORT mode switch is operated.

      NG: Go to Step  3.

      OK: Go to next step

  2. Reading SSM3 data
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Use SSM3 to display the [Current Data Display & Save] screen according to the screen display and check the computer data recorded when the SNOW mode switch is operated.

      NG: Go to Step  6.

      OK: Symptom table (refer to SYMPTOM TABLE  )

  3. Check of pattern select switch ASSY unit
    1. Disconnect the connector D35 of pattern select switch ASSY.
    2. Check the pattern select switch ASSY (SPORT switch) unit. (Refer to UNIT INSPECTION )

      NG: Replacement of pattern select switch ASSY (refer to PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY )

      OK: Go to next step

  4. Check wiring harness and connector (pattern select switch - transmission control computer - chassis ground)
    1. Disconnect the connector A19 of the transmission control computer.
    2. Disconnect the connector D35 of pattern select switch ASSY.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Resistance

      Inspection terminals Inspection conditions Standard value
      A19-13 (SPORT) - D35-4 (SPORT) Always Less than 1 Ω
      D35-8 - chassis ground Always Less than 1 Ω
      A19-13 (SPORT) - chassis ground Always 10 kΩ or more
    4. Connect the connector A19 of the transmission control computer.
    5. Connect the connector D35 of the pattern select switch ASSY.

      NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector

      OK: Go to next step

  5. Replacement of transmission control computer ASSY
    1. Replace the transmission control computer. (Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL COMPUTER ASSY )

      Next

      AT unit correction (refer to INSPECTION FOR PROBLEMS THAT DO NOT NORMALLY OCCUR  )

  6. Check of pattern select switch ASSY unit
    1. Disconnect the connector D35 of pattern select switch ASSY.
    2. Check the pattern select switch ASSY (SNOW switch) unit. (Refer to UNIT INSPECTION )

      NG: Replacement of pattern select switch ASSY (refer to PATTERN SELECT SWITCH ASSY )

      OK: Go to next step

  7. Wiring harness or connector check (pattern select switch - transmission control computer - chassis ground)
    1. Disconnect the connector A19 of the transmission control computer.
    2. Disconnect the connector D35 of pattern select switch ASSY.
    3. Measure the resistance between the terminals.

      Resistance

      Inspection terminals Inspection conditions Standard value
      A19-24 (SNOW) - D35-6 (SNOW) Always Less than 1 Ω
      D35-8 - chassis ground Always Less than 1 Ω
      A19-24 (SNOW) - chassis ground Always 10 kΩ or more
    4. Connect the connector A19 of the transmission control computer.
    5. Connect the connector D35 of the pattern select switch ASSY.

      NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector

      OK: Go to next step

  8. Replacement of transmission control computer ASSY
    1. Replace the transmission control computer. (Refer to TRANSMISSION CONTROL COMPUTER ASSY )

      Next

      AT unit correction (refer to INSPECTION FOR PROBLEMS THAT DO NOT NORMALLY OCCUR  )
