Inspection steps

NOTE: Read the freeze frame data using the SSM3. A part of the engine running conditions under which the engine trouble occurred is recorded in the freeze frame data, which is useful for troubleshooting.
  1. Read DTC (ECT system)
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to check the DTC of the ECT system. (refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC CODES )

      Result Go to
      No DTC is output. A
      DTC is output. B

      B: To corresponding DTC chart (refer to LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC CODES )

      A: Go to next step

  2. Clear DTC
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to clear the DTCs. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )

  3. DTC recheck
    1. Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
    2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
    3. Follow the SSM3 on-screen instructions to check the DTCs. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )

      P0700 is not output. A
      P0700 is output. B

      B: Replacement of the engine control computer (refer to REMOVAL )

      A: Inspection for problems that do not normally occur (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DTC )
