Inspection steps

NOTE:
Because the key warning system includes functions that use CAN communication, first check if any problem is present in the CAN communication function according to "How to troubleshoot". Next, perform the following troubleshooting procedure.
- Reading values with SSM3 (front door courtesy light switch)
- Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
- Turn IG SW to ON.
- Turn on the SSM3.
- Enter the following menus. [Integ. unit mode] →[Current Data Display & Save]
- Using SSM3, read the data list according to the screen displays.MAIN BODY

OK: Go to Next Step
- Reading values with SSM3 (key unlock warning switch)
- Connect the SSM3 to the DLC3.
- Turn IG SW to ON.
- Turn on the SSM3.
- Enter the following menus. [Integ. unit mode] →[Current Data Display & Save]
- Using SSM3, read the data list according to the screen displays.MAIN BODY

ON: Ignition key is inserted- Criteria: When the unlock warning switch is operated, the display is changed as indicated in the table.

- Inspecting combination meter assembly (buzzer operation)
- Remove the key from the key cylinder, turn the light control switch for headlight dimmer switch assembly to the tail position, and open the driver's door.
Criteria: The light warning buzzer sounds
NOTE: The key warning system sounds the buzzer integrated in the combination meter and activates the lockout prevention function. This buzzer is also used for the light warning system. Therefore, check that the combination meter buzzer operates to alert the user to the light left illuminated.NG: Replace the combination meter assembly
OK: Replacement of the main body ECM (multiplex network body ECM)
- Remove the key from the key cylinder, turn the light control switch for headlight dimmer switch assembly to the tail position, and open the driver's door.
- Inspecting unlock warning switch assembly
- Remove the unlock warning switch assembly. (Refer to UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH assembly )
- Inspect the unlock warning switch assembly. (Refer to
UNIT INSPECTION
)
NG: Replace the unlock warning switch assembly (Refer to UNLOCK WARNING SWITCH assembly )
OK: Go to Next Step
- Inspecting wiring harness and connector (main body ECM - unlock warning switch)
- Disconnect the unlock warning switch assembly connector D53.
- Disconnect the main body ECM (multiplex network body ECM) connector D5.
- Measure the voltage and resistance according to the following table.VOLTAGE

NG: Repair or replacement of wiring harness or connector
