Front Exhaust Pipe: Installation

  1. Set new gasket to the rear exhaust pipe.
  2. Set a new gasket, and temporarily install the front exhaust pipe.
  3. Install the bolts which secure front exhaust pipe to hanger bracket.

    Tightening torque: 

    35 N.m (3.6kgf-m, 25.8ft-lb) 

  4. Tighten the nuts which hold the front exhaust pipe.

    Tightening torque: 

    30 N.m (3.1kgf-m, 22.1ft-lb) 

  5. Connect the front exhaust pipe and rear exhaust pipe.

    Tightening torque: 

    18 N.m (1.8kgf-m, 13.3ft-lb) 

  6. Install the crossmember support - rear LH.

    Tightening torque: 

    70 N.m (7.1kgf-m, 51.6ft-lb) 

  7. Connect the front oxygen (A/F) sensor connector, rear oxygen sensor connector and the ground cord.

    Tightening torque: 

    7.5 N.m (0.8kgf-m, 5.5ft-lb) 

  8. Install the under cover. Ref. to EXTERIOR/INTERIOR TRIM>Front Under Cover>INSTALLATION .
  9. Connect the battery ground terminal. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .


  1. Set new gasket to the rear exhaust pipe. (Front side)
  2. Apply a coat of spray type lubricant to the mating area of cushion rubber.
  3. Install the rear exhaust pipe.
    NOTE: After installation, degrease the cushion rubber.
  4. Set a new gasket, and connect the rear exhaust pipe and muffler.
    CAUTION: Be sure to use a new self-locking nut.

    Tightening torque: 

    48 N.m (4.9kgf-m, 35.4ft-lb) 

  5. Connect the front exhaust pipe and rear exhaust pipe.

    Tightening torque: 

    18 N.m (1.8kgf-m, 13.3ft-lb)
