Check Trunk Opener Switch Circuit
- CHECK DATA MONITOR.
Using the Subaru Select Monitor, display the data of «R Gate Release SW input». Ref. to BODY CONTROL SYSTEM (DIAGNOSTICS)>Read Current Data>OPERATION .
NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Application help".Does the display switch between OFF ↔ ON when the trunk opener switch is operated?
Yes: The trunk opener switch is normal.
No: Go to 2
- CHECK HARNESS.
- Disconnect the connectors of body integrated unit and trunk opener switch.
- Check the harness between the body integrated unit connector and trunk opener switch.

(i171) No. 6 - (i258) No. 1:
Is harness normal?
Yes: Go to 3
No: Repair or replace the harness.
- CHECK HARNESS.
Measure the resistance between the trunk opener switch connector and chassis ground.

(i258) No. 4 - Chassis ground:
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?
Yes: Go to 4
No: Repair or replace the harness.
- CHECK TRUNK OPENER SWITCH.
Measure the resistance between terminals both when trunk opener switch is pressed and when not pressed.

No. 1 - No. 4:
Is the resistance less than 10 Ω when the switch is pressed and 1 MΩ or more when not pressed?
Yes: Replace the body integrated unit. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .
No: Replace the trunk opener switch.
