Check Door Switch

  1. CHECK DATA MONITOR. 

    Display the following items using Subaru Select Monitor.

    • «Driver's door SW input»
    • «P-door SW input»
    • «Rear right door SW input»
    • «Rear left door SW input»
    • «R Gate SW input»
    NOTE: For detailed operation procedures, refer to "Application help".

    Does the display switch between OFF ↔ ON when each door, trunk lid, or rear gate is opened/closed?

    Yes:  The door switches, trunk lid latch switch or rear gate latch switch are normal.

    No:  Go to  2

  2. CHECK HARNESS. 
    1. Disconnect the connector of body integrated unit.
    2. Disconnect the connector of the door switch, trunk lid latch switch or rear gate latch switch that the display does not change.
    3. Check the harness between body integrated unit and defective switch.

      Rear door LH

      (i171) No. 14 - (R22) No. 4:

      Rear door RH

      Trunk lid

      (i171) No. 15 - (R186) No. 3:

      Rear gate (model without power rear gate)

      (i171) No. 15 - (D46) No. 3:

      Rear gate (model with power rear gate)

      (i171) No. 15 - (D153) No. 3:

    Is harness normal?

    Yes:  Go to  3

    No:  Repair or replace the harness.

  3. CHECK HARNESS. 

    Measure the resistance between the faulty switch connector and chassis ground.

    Connector & terminal 

    Front door LH

    (R9) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

    Front door RH

    (R12) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

    Rear door LH

    (R22) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

    Rear door RH

    (R16) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

    Trunk lid

    (R186) No. 2 - Chassis ground:

    Rear gate (model without power rear gate)

    (D46) No. 4 - Chassis ground:

    Rear gate (model with power rear gate)

    (D153) No. 4 - Chassis ground:

    Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

    Yes:  Go to  4

    No:  Repair or replace the harness.

  4. CHECK DOOR SWITCH. 

    Measure the resistance between faulty switch terminals.

    Terminals 

    Front LH door switch

    No. 2 - No. 1:

    Front RH door switch

    No. 4 - No. 1:

    Rear LH door switch

    No. 4 - No. 1:

    Rear RH door switch

    No. 4 - No. 1:

    Trunk lid latch switch

    No. 3 - No. 2:

    Rear gate latch switch (model without power rear gate)

    No. 3 - No. 4:

    Rear gate latch switch (model with power rear gate)

    No. 3 - No. 4:

    Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more when the door switch is pushed or the trunk lid and rear gate is closed?

    Yes:  Replace the body integrated unit. Ref. to SECURITY AND LOCKS>BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .

    No:  Replace the faulty parts.

    • Trunk lid latch and actuator assembly
    • Rear gate latch and actuator assembly
