Power Rear Gate Rod: Installation

  1. Install the new stop ring to the rod - power rear gate.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not reuse the stop ring.
    • Align the stop ring to the ball housing groove, and attach the ring by gradually applying force, while paying attention not to deform it.
  2. Check the clearance (a) of the stop ring.

    Specification: 

    6.4 - 7.2 mm (0.25 - 0.28 in)

    Replace the stop ring if the inspection result is not within the standard value.

  3. Install the rod - power rear gate.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not install the battery sensor ground terminal before installing the rod. If the power rear gate drive unit moves by wrong operation of the switch, the installation of the rod may be no longer possible.
    • Check that the stop ring and ball stud (bracket rod - power rear gate) are vertically placed, and then slowly press in the rod.
    • Install the rod with its angular end facing downward.

  4. Install the cover - rear quarter pillar PRG.
  5. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
