Inspection steps

CAUTION:
  • Always perform a steering zero point calibration after replacing the power steering computer ASSY
  • Delete the assist map before performing troubleshooting.
  1. Diagnosis codes
    1. Start the engine.
    2. Use the SSM4 to recheck the diagnosis codes. (Refer to CHECKING/CLEARING DIAGNOSTIC CODES )
      RESULT DESCRIPTION

      Result Go to
      Diagnosis codes are output. A
      C1581 is not output. B
      1. Go to next step
      2. Functioning properly (The assist map is written.)
  2. Diagnosis code check
    1. Check if C1583 or C1534 is not output.

      Criteria: Neither C1583 nor C1534 is output.

      OK: Go to next step

      NG: Progress to the "output code flow chart". (Refer to LIST OF DIAGNOSTIC CODES )

      Replacement of the power steering computer ASSY (Refer to POWER STEERING COMPUTER )

      NOTE: After repeating this diagnosis three times, replace the power steering computer ASSY.
