Check Door Switch

Display the following items using Subaru Select Monitor. Refer to BODY CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .

• [Driver's door SW input]
• [P-door SW input]
• [Rear right door SW input]
• [Rear left door SW input]
• [R Gate SW input]

Does the display switch between [OFF] ←→ [ON] when each door, trunk lid, or rear gate is opened/closed?

Yes  : The door switches, trunk lid latch switch or rear gate latch switch are normal.

No  : Go to  2.

1. Disconnect the connector of body integrated unit.
2. Disconnect the connector of the door switch, trunk lid latch switch or rear gate latch switch that the display does not change.
3. Check the harness between body integrated unit and defective switch.

   (i82) No. 14 - (L102) No. 2:

   Rear door RH

   Trunk lid 

   (i82) No. 15 - (Td47) No. 3:

   Rear gate 

   (i82) No. 15 - (Db61) No. 1:

Is harness normal?

Yes  : Go to  3.

No  : Repair or replace the harness.

Measure the resistance between the faulty switch connector and chassis ground.

(L102) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

Rear door RH 

(R102) No. 1 - Chassis ground:

Rear gate 

(Db61) No. 2 - Chassis ground:

Is the resistance less than 10 Ω?

Yes  : Go to  4.

No  : Repair or replace the harness.

Measure the resistance between faulty switch terminals.

Is the resistance 1 MΩ or more when the door switch is pushed, or the trunk lid or rear gate is closed?

Yes  : Replace the body integrated unit. Refer to BODY CONTROL/COMMUNICATION SYSTEM>BODY INTEGRATED UNIT .

No  : Replace the faulty parts.

• Door switches: Refer to LIGHTING SYSTEM>Door Switch .
• Trunk lid latch & actuator assembly: Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>TRUNK LID LATCH AND ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY .
• Rear gate latch & actuator assembly: Refer to SECURITY AND LOCKS>REAR GATE LATCH AND ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY .
