Power Seat System: Removal: Notes

CAUTION:
  • Before handling the airbag system components, refer to "CAUTION" of "General Description" in "AIRBAG SYSTEM". Ref. to AIRBAG SYSTEM>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>CAUTION .
  • The load sensor of the occupant detection system is fixed to the cushion frame assembly. Never remove the load sensor from the cushion frame assembly. The following parts can be replaced as a single unit.
    • Cushion pad
    • Cushion cover
    • Occupant detection control module
    • Seat harness
  • When the cushion frame assembly of the passenger's seat is replaced, the occupant detection control module, seat harness and load sensor are assembled. When replacing the cushion frame assembly, do not touch the load sensor to avoid electrical damage.
  • When removing or replacing the seat, perform "Occupant Detection System Inspection" after installing the seat to check if the occupant detection system operates normally. Ref. to PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION>PRE-DELIVERY INSPECTION (PDI) PROCEDURE>SEAT .
  • Be careful with the following items when disconnecting the ground terminal from battery sensor. (Model with door mirror interlocked seat position memory)
    • When the seat or the door mirror is moved with the engine OFF, always disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor after waiting for 60 seconds. If the ground terminal is disconnected from the battery sensor without waiting for 60 seconds, the seat recalling position may be misaligned.
    • When the memory registration is performed with the ignition switch OFF, wait for 60 seconds, and then disconnect the ground terminal from the battery sensor. If the ground terminal is disconnected from the battery sensor without waiting for 60 seconds, the registration information may not be stored correctly.
  • The power seat and remote control mirror control module must be initialized if the following conditions are met. (Model with door mirror interlocked seat position memory)
    • When the driver's seat is replaced
    • When the connector under the driver's seat is disconnected
    • When the power seat and remote control mirror control module is replaced.
    • Slide rail assembly or backrest frame assembly is removed or replaced.
    • When the ground terminal is removed from the battery sensor
    • When the battery is replaced
    • When the fuse is removed.
    • When the accessories are installed
