Water Tank Pipe Assembly

CAUTION: If the engine coolant is spilt over the engine or the exhaust pipe, completely wipe it off to avoid emission of smoke or causing a fire.
  1. Connect the water hose (A) and the water hose (B).

  2. Install the outlet engine coolant temperature sensor to the water tank pipe assembly No. 2. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR>INSTALLATION>OUTLET ENGINE COOLANT TEMPERATURE SENSOR .
  3. Set new O-rings.

  4. Connect the water tank pipe assembly No. 2 to the water hose (A), water hose (B) and water hose (C).

  5. Install the bolts securing the water tank pipe assembly No. 2 and install the clip (A).

    Tightening torque: 

    16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)

  6. Install the thermo control valve assembly. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>Thermo Control Valve Assembly>INSTALLATION .
  7. Install the water tank pipe assembly No. 1 and connect the water hose (A).
    NOTE:
    • For the bolt (B), use a crowfoot wrench for tightening.
    • Use the following formula to calculate the reading of a torque wrench when tightening with a crowfoot wrench.
    Calculation formula
    T = 6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb) x L1/(L1 + L2)
    T: Reading of the torque wrench
    L1: Effective length of the torque wrench
    L2: Effective length of the crowfoot wrench
    NOTE: If the effective length of the tool used is unknown, consult the manufacturer of the tool.

    Tightening torque: 

    6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

  8. Install the clip (A) and clip (B) and connect the radiator inlet hose.

  9. Install the high-pressure fuel delivery pipe assembly. Ref. to FUEL INJECTION (FUEL SYSTEMS) (H4DO)>HIGH PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE>INSTALLATION>HIGH-PRESSURE FUEL DELIVERY PIPE ASSEMBLY .
  10. Install the air intake duct (rear). Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE DUCT>INSTALLATION .
  11. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to GROUND TERMINAL REMOVAL OR INSTALLATION .
  12. Fill engine coolant. Ref. to COOLING (H4DO)>Engine Coolant>REPLACEMENT>FILLING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
