DTC C1732: Lateral G Sensor
DTC detecting condition:
- A fault is detected if the sensor signal value is not correct.
- A fault is detected if the steering angle sensor signal/yaw rate sensor signal change while the lateral G sensor signal indicates a constant value.
- A fault is detected if the communication status of lateral G sensor is abnormal.
Trouble symptom:
- ABS does not operate.
- VDC does not operate.
- AVH does not function.
- EyeSight does not operate.
- CHECK INSTALLATION OF VDCCM AND H/U

Is VDCCM and H/U installed properly without being tilted?
Is the bracket deformation-free?
Are the VDCCM and H/U installation bolts installed without missing or getting loose?
Yes: Go to 2 .
No: Repair the defective part.
- Install VDCCM and H/U properly.
- Replace the bracket if faulty.
- Tighten the VDCCM and H/U installation bolt. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>GENERAL DESCRIPTION>COMPONENT>VDC CONTROL MODULE and HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDC CM and H/U)

Go to 2 .
- CHECK OUTPUT OF STEERING ANGLE SENSOR USING SUBARU SELECT MONITOR
.
- Park the vehicle straight on a level surface.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read data of [Steering Angle Sensor] in the [Data Monitor] of [Brake Control]. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
Is the value of [Steering Angle Sensor] between -10 - 10 deg?
Yes: Go to 3 .
No: Check the installation of steering angle sensor.
- CHECK OUTPUT OF LATERAL G SENSOR AND LONGITUDINAL G SENSOR WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR

- Park the vehicle straight on a level surface.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read data of [Lateral G Sensor], [Longitudinal G Sensor] in the [Data Monitor] of [Brake Control]. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
Are the values of [Lateral G Sensor] and [Longitudinal G Sensor] between -2 - 2 m/s^2?
Yes: Go to 4 .
No: Recheck from step 1, and if the problem is not solved, Go to 7 .
- SET 0 POINT OF LATERAL G SENSOR AND LONGITUDINAL G SENSOR WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR

- Select the [Work Support] using Subaru Select Monitor. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>WORK SUPPORT .
- Perform the VDC sensor midpoint setting mode. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM and H/U)>ADJUSTMENT>VDC SENSOR MIDPOINT SETTING MODE .
Is 0 point setting successful?
Yes: Go to 5 .
No: Recheck from step 1, and when the 0 point setting is not possible, replace the VDCCM and H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM and H/U) .
- PERFORM DRIVING TEST

Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>INSPECTION MODE .
Does the ABS warning light or VDC warning light illuminate during driving?
Does ABS or VDC operate abnormally?
Yes: Recheck from step 1, and when the warning lights illuminate or improperly operate, replace the VDCCM and H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM and H/U) .
No: Go to 6 .
- CHECK OUTPUT OF LATERAL G SENSOR AND LONGITUDINAL G SENSOR WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR

- Park the vehicle on a level surface.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read data of [Lateral G Sensor], [Longitudinal G Sensor] in the [Data Monitor] of [Brake Control]. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
Are the values of [Lateral G Sensor] and [Longitudinal G Sensor] between -1.5 - 1.5 m/s^2?
Yes: Currently, it is normal. There may have been a temporary poor contact in the harness and connector or a temporary noise interference.
No: Recheck from step 1, and if the problem is not solved, replace the VDCCM and H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM and H/U) .
- CHECK OUTPUT OF LATERAL G SENSOR AND LONGITUDINAL G SENSOR WITH SUBARU SELECT MONITOR

- Remove the VDCCM and H/U installation bolt and bracket.
- Keep VDCCM and H/U in a horizontal position.
- Using the Subaru Select Monitor, read data of [Lateral G Sensor], [Longitudinal G Sensor] in the [Data Monitor] of [Brake Control]. Ref. to BRAKE CONTROL (DIAGNOSTICS)>DATA MONITOR .
When the VDCCM and H/U is in a horizontal position, are the values of [Lateral G Sensor] and [Longitudinal G Sensor] between -1.5 - 1.5 m/s^2?
Yes: Check the bracket and brake pipe, and install VDCCM and H/U in a horizontal position to the vehicle.
No: Replace the VDCCM and H/U. Ref. to VEHICLE DYNAMICS CONTROL (VDC)>VDC CONTROL MODULE AND HYDRAULIC CONTROL UNIT (VDCCM and H/U) .
