Section 12 (Engine Cooling System (2.0L)): Radiator: Removal

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
CAUTION: The radiator is pressurized when the engine and radiator are hot. Wait until engine and radiator cool down before working on the radiator.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Refer to NOTE>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the air intake duct. Refer to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (W/O STI)>AIR INTAKE DUCT>REMOVAL .
  3. Remove the reservoir tank. Refer to COOLING(W/O STI)>RESERVOIR TANK>REMOVAL .
  4. Drain engine coolant. Refer to COOLING(W/O STI)>ENGINE COOLANT>REPLACEMENT>DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT .
  5. Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from thermostat cover.

  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Disconnect the connector (A) from the main fan motor and the connector (B) from the sub fan motor.

  8. Disconnect the radiator inlet hose from the water tank pipe assembly.

  9. Remove the radiator upper brackets.

  10. Remove the radiator from vehicle.
  11. Remove the radiator lower cushion from the radiator lower bracket.
