Inhibitor Switch: Adjustment
- Release the shift lock and shift the select lever to the "N range". Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER>REMOVAL .
- Disconnect the select lever rod. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER ROD>REMOVAL .
- Remove the nut, spring washer, and selector lever.
(A) Nut (B) Spring washer (C) Selector lever - Remove the bolts securing the inhibitor switch.
- Remove the seal material from the bolt holes of the transmission case.
- Move the inhibitor switch and align the neutral reference line (A) and the kerf (B).
- Install the bolts which hold the inhibitor switch.CAUTION:
- Always use a new bolt.
- Be careful not to rotate the inhibitor switch.
Tightening torque:
13 N.m (1.3 kgf-m, 9.6 ft-lb)
- Install the selector lever, spring washer, and nut.
Tightening torque:
16 N.m (1.6 kgf-m, 11.8 ft-lb)
- Connect the select lever rod. Ref. to CONTROL SYSTEMS>SELECT LEVER ROD>INSTALLATION .
- Check the inhibitor switch operation. Ref. to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION>INHIBITOR SWITCH>INSPECTION>CHECK OPERATION .
