Inhibitor Switch: Removal

NOTE: Do not turn the manual valve lever shaft before installing the inhibitor switch.
If the manual valve lever shaft is turned, it may be disconnected in the transmission.
  1. Disconnect the ground terminal from battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  2. Remove the center exhaust pipe. Ref. to EXHAUST (H4DO)>CENTER EXHAUST PIPE>REMOVAL .
  3. Disconnect the select lever rod.

  4. Remove the bushing and spacer from the selector lever.
    NOTE: Perform this procedure only when required.

  5. Remove the nut, spring washer, and selector lever.

  6. Disconnect the connector.

  7. Unlock the nut stopper.

  8. Remove the nut and the nut stopper.

  9. Remove the inhibitor switch.

  10. Remove the seal material from the bolt holes in the transmission case and the bolt.
