Intermediate Shaft: Removal

1. Remove the No. 2 brake cylinder. Ref. to AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION>NO. 2 BRAKE CYLINDER>REMOVAL .
2. Remove the snap ring.

3. Remove the No. 3 one-way clutch and the intermediate shaft as a unit.

4. Check the No. 3 one-way clutch.
   1. Check that when it is turned clockwise it is locked, whereas when it is turned counterclockwise it turns freely.

   2. If it turns freely when turned clockwise or if it is locked when turned counterclockwise, replace with a new No. 3 one-way clutch.
5. Remove the No. 3 one-way clutch and one-way clutch inner race.
