Extension Case: Removal

  1. Remove the transmission body. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION>TRANSMISSION ASSEMBLY>REMOVAL .
  2. Remove the neutral position switch. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION>SWITCHES AND HARNESS>REMOVAL>NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH .
  3. Remove the back-up light switch. Ref. to MANUAL TRANSMISSION>SWITCHES AND HARNESS>REMOVAL>BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH .
  4. Remove the head straight screw plug, compression spring, and lock ball pin.

  5. Remove the holder, compression spring, and lock ball pin.

  6. Remove the bolt securing the shift block.

  7. Remove the bolts securing the extension case and clamp (A).

  8. Using a plastic hammer, expand the clearance and remove the extension case.
    CAUTION:
    • Be sure to remove the extension case with the shift position in neutral status.
    • Be careful not to damage the extension case.

  9. Remove the liquid gasket from the extension case and the transmission case.
