Stereo Camera: Installation

CAUTION:
  • When the stereo camera has been replaced with a new part, the camera remains in a failed state until adjustment and inspection are performed.
  • When the windshield glass has been replaced, removed or installed, always perform the adjustment and inspection of the stereo camera and the heater heating and cooling fan drive test. Ref. to EYESIGHT>STEREO CAMERA ADJUSTMENT, INSPECTION .
  • Do not apply any impact to the stereo camera. Even the slightest shock will deviate the optical axis of the camera, resulting in the loss of normal operation of the camera.
  • When the stereo camera has been replaced, be sure to perform the module registration.
  1. Install the stereo camera.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not touch the lenses RH and LH, cooling fan at the center and harness. If they are accidentally touched, or dirt or dust is accumulated on them, be sure to replace the stereo camera.

    • Do not peel off the aluminum-tape (a). The performance and quality may be affected.

    1. Enter the passenger room, and remove the HOOD RH/LH from the stereo camera.
      CAUTION:
      • Do not remove the HOOD RH/LH until just before installing the stereo camera.
      • Do not let the HOOD RH/LH touch the lens portion of the stereo camera. Even the slightest contact will deviate the optical axis of the stereo camera, resulting in the loss of normal operation of the camera.
    2. Align and temporarily place the guides of the stereo camera to the camera bracket.

    3. While aligning the pin of the stereo camera to the center clip, slowly push the guide into the clip in numerical order as shown in the figure to install the stereo camera.
      CAUTION:
      • Do not apply any impact to the stereo camera by letting it contact the adjacent parts.
      • Do not insert the guides on both sides at the same time, since strong impact may be applied to the stereo camera that may cause damage.
      • While being careful not to let the harness and others caught, check that the clips and guides are engaged securely.

    4. Connect the connector.
  2. Install the cover assembly stereo camera.
    CAUTION:
    • Do not apply any impact to the stereo camera.
    • Install precisely so that it will not block the visibility of the stereo camera.
    NOTE: Try not to peel the polyurethane of the cover assembly stereo camera.
    1. Connect each connector.
    2. Engage the front hook of the cover assembly stereo camera with the camera bracket.
    3. Push the section (a) of the cover assembly stereo camera upward and engage the clips to install the cover assembly stereo camera.

    4. Install the screws.
  3. Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
  4. When the stereo camera has been replaced, perform the module registration. Ref. to COMMON (DIAGNOSTICS)>UNIT REGISTRATION>OPERATION .
  5. Perform the adjustment or inspection of the stereo camera. Ref. to EYESIGHT>STEREO CAMERA ADJUSTMENT, INSPECTION .
