Transmission Control Device: Installation

  1. Install a new oil seal using ST.
    NOTE: Apply CVTF to the press-fitting area.

    Preparation tool: 

    ST: INSTALLER (18657AA000)

  2. Install the manual valve.

  3. Install the parking rod to the manual plate.

  4. Set the manual plate (B) and parking rod (C) as a set, and install the rod (A) of the manual valve.

  5. Install the shifter arm shaft.
    CAUTION: Be careful not to damage the oil seal.
    NOTE: Apply CVTF to the oil seal lip.

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  6. Install a new spring pin.

  7. Install the detent spring.
    NOTE: Make sure that the detent spring pin (a) is inserted in the positioning hole of the transmission case.

    Tightening torque: 

    7 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 5.2 ft-lb)

  8. Install the inhibitor switch. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>INHIBITOR SWITCH>INSTALLATION .
  9. Install the oil strainer and oil pan. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>OIL PAN>INSTALLATION .
  10. Install the parking support.

    Tightening torque: 

    25 N.m (2.5 kgf-m, 18.4 ft-lb)

  11. Install the parking pawl. Ref. to CONTINUOUSLY VARIABLE TRANSMISSION (TR580)>PARKING PAWL>INSTALLATION .
