EGR Control Valve: Installation

NOTE: When the whole EGR system is replaced, refer to "WHEN THE WHOLE EGR SYSTEM IS REMOVED" for the EGR cooler. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO)>EGR COOLER>INSTALLATION>WHEN THE WHOLE EGR SYSTEM IS REMOVED .

Install the EGR control valve.

Install the EGR pipe adapter to the intake manifold assembly. (2.0 L model)

Tightening torque :

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Using a new gasket, install the EGR control valve to the EGR pipe adapter. (2.0 L model)

Tightening torque :

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Using a new gasket, install the EGR control valve to the EGR pipe adapter. (2.5 L model)

Tightening torque :

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Install the EGR control valve to the intake manifold assembly. (2.5 L model)

Tightening torque :

19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Set a new gasket, and install the stud bolts using TORX® E8.
Tightening torque :

T1: 5 N.m (0.5 kgf-m, 3.7 ft-lb)

Install the nuts securing the EGR cooler.

Tightening torque :

T2: 19 N.m (1.9 kgf-m, 14.0 ft-lb)

Install the engine rear hanger. (2.0 L model)

Tightening torque :

36 N.m (3.7 kgf-m, 26.6 ft-lb)

Tighten the bolt which secures the EGR cooler.

Tightening torque :

6.4 N.m (0.7 kgf-m, 4.7 ft-lb)

Connect the connector.

Install the EGR pipe. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO)>EGR PIPE>INSTALLATION .
Install the purge control solenoid valve. Ref. to EMISSION CONTROL (AUX. EMISSION CONTROL DEVICES) (H4DO)>PURGE CONTROL SOLENOID VALVE>INSTALLATION .
Install the air intake boot. Ref. to INTAKE (INDUCTION) (H4DO)>AIR INTAKE BOOT>INSTALLATION .
Connect the ground terminal to battery sensor. Ref. to REPAIR CONTENTS>NOTE>BATTERY .
