Sub-Assembly - Instrument Panel - Remove And Replace: Install

  1. Install new bolts (x6) that attach the front passenger airbag to the new instrument panel sub-assembly.

    8 N.m (5.9 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • External Torx E10

  2. Position the instrument panel aero lens to the instrument panel sub-assembly.
    NOTE: Align the tabs (x8) from the instrument panel sub-assembly into the instrument panel aero lens.

  3. Rotate the instrument panel aero lens into the instrument panel sub-assembly and secure it with tabs (x8).
    NOTE: Rotate the instrument panel sub-assembly rearward to engage the tabs (x8).

  4. Install the screws (x5) that attach the instrument panel aero lens to the instrument panel sub-assembly.

    2.5 N.m (1.8 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T20 bit

  5. Connect the air wave ventilation electrical connectors (x4).

  6. With an assistant, install the instrument panel sub-assembly.
    NOTE: Slide the instrument panel sub-assembly into the vehicle.
    NOTE: Make sure the front passenger airbag and the driver vent assembly have clearance past the lower instrument panel assembly.
    NOTE: Engage the instrument panel sub-assembly datums (x4) into the dash slots.

  7. Install the bolt that attaches the instrument panel ground harness.

    3.5 N.m (2.6 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm socket
    NOTE: Clip (x1).
    NOTE: Route behind the touchscreen RH bracket.

  8. Connect the instrument panel trim harness electrical connector.

  9. Connect the instrument cluster harness electrical connector.

  10. Position the lower instrument panel assembly into the instrument panel sub-assembly.

  11. Install the LH lower instrument panel screws (x3).

    3 N.m (2.2 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T20 bit

  12. Install the center lower instrument panel screws (x6).

    3 N.m (2.2 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T20 bit

  13. Install the RH lower instrument panel screws (x3).

    3 N.m (2.2 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • Torx T20 bit

  14. Install the bolts (x2) that attach the instrument panel carrier cross beam.

    3 N.m (2.2 ft-lbs) 

    Tip: Use of the following tool(s) is recommended:

    • 10 mm socket

  15. Connect the front passenger airbag electrical connectors (x3).

  16. Install the front passenger instrument panel duct. See Duct - Instrument Panel - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace) .
  17. Install the main instrument panel decor. See DECOR - INSTRUMENT PANEL - MAIN (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  18. Install the glove box. See GLOVE BOX (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  19. Install the front passenger knee airbag. See Knee Airbag - Front Passenger (Remove and Replace) .
  20. Install the RH center console side panel carpet. See Carpet - Side Panel - Center Console - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  21. Install the front passenger footwell cover. See COVER - FOOTWELL - PASSENGER (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  22. Install the RH lower A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Lower - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  23. Install the RH front sill panel trim. See Trim - Sill Panel - Front - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  24. Install the front passenger floor mat.
  25. Install the RH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  26. Install the RH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  27. Install the RH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  28. Install the RH instrument panel end cap. See END CAP - INSTRUMENT PANEL - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  29. Install the RH instrument panel middle trim. See TRIM - MIDDLE - INSTRUMENT PANEL - RH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  30. Fasten the tabs (x4) that attach the IP closeout panel.

  31. Install the touchscreen. See Touchscreen - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  32. Install the instrument panel service panel. See Service Panel - Instrument Panel (Remove and Replace) .
  33. Install the center console phone dock. See Phone Dock - Center Console (Remove and Replace) .
  34. Reconnect LV power. See LV Power (Disconnect and Connect) .
  35. Install the rear underhood apron. See Underhood Apron - Rear (Remove and Replace) .
  36. Restore the front passenger seat back to its original position.
  37. Close the RH front door.
  38. Install the LH upper A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Upper - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  39. Install the LH sun visor bezel A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Sun Visor Bezel - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  40. Install the LH instrument panel middle trim. See TRIM - MIDDLE - INSTRUMENT PANEL - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  41. Install the LH middle A-pillar trim. See Trim - A-Pillar - Middle - LH (Remove and Replace) .
  42. Install the LH instrument panel end cap. See END CAP - INSTRUMENT PANEL - LH (REMOVE AND REPLACE) .
  43. Restore the steering column back to its original position.
  44. Restore the driver seat back to its original position.
  45. Calibrate the LH and RH rear doors by holding each upper B-pillar button in the down position.
  46. Raise the LH and RH front windows.
  47. Close the LH front door.
