VIN Locations

The Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) is visible in the following locations:

The bottom corner of the windshield at driver side

The RH front door sill panel; can be seen when the sill trim panel is removed (only applicable to vehicles in certain regions such as China and Europe)

On the touchscreen after touching Controls > Software

NOTE: When corresponding with Tesla, always include the VIN (and the drive unit serial number, if necessary).

NOTE: If replacing any component on which a VIN is located, local regulations might require that the VIN be inscribed on the replacement component. Consult local authorities for VIN scribing requirements and, if required, the procedure for having the VIN inscribed on the new component.
