Clutch Assembly: Installation
- Use appropriate aligning tool to center clutch disc on flywheel. Tighten clutch pressure plate attaching bolts alternately and evenly in a diagonal progression until 11-15 ft. lbs. (15-20 Nm) of torque are meet.
- Using a feeler gauge and tool (#SST 09301-00013
), measure gap between spring tips and tool. If gap is larger than .02 in (.5 mm), use tool (#SST 09301-00012
) to bend springs until alignment is correct. See Fig 1.

- Apply molybdenum disulphide grease to the following contact points: release fork and hub, hub and lever, hub and oil seal, and hub and bushing. Also apply grease to inside of bearing and inside of clutch disc splines. Reverse removal procedure to complete installation and bleed hydraulic system if necessary.
