Engine Compression

Check compression pressure with engine at normal operating temperature. Remove all spark plugs.
On Tercel models, disconnect the distributor and Electronic Air Bleed Control Valve (EBCV) located below air cleaner. See Fig 1.
On all models, hold throttle valve wide open, and operate engine at cranking speed. Compare reading to specification. See COMPRESSION SPECIFICATIONS table. Reinstall connectors and spark plugs.
