Using An Ammeter

Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 1, the positive (+) lead from the ammeter to terminal 2, and the negative (-) lead to battery negative (-) terminal. See Fig 1. Move the side support to the most close position.
Continue to apply voltage. Check the current changes from approximately 4 ampere to less than 0.3 ampere within 4-60 seconds.
Disconnect the leads from terminals.
Approximately 60 seconds later, connect the positive (+) lead from battery to terminal 2, and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1. See Fig 2. Check that the side support starts to spread. If operation is not as specified, replace the motor.
