Turbocharging Pressure Sensor

  1. To check power source, turn ignition on. Unplug turbocharging pressure sensor. Measure voltage between terminals VC and E2 of harness connector. See Fig 1. Voltage should be 4.5-5.5 volts.
  2. To check power output, turn ignition on. Unplug turbocharging pressure sensor vacuum hose from intake manifold. Connect voltmeter to terminals PIM and E2 of ECU connector. See WIRING DIAGRAMS article in this section. Measure output voltage under ambient atmospheric pressure.
  3. Attach a vacuum pump to turbocharging pressure sensor vacuum hose and apply vacuum in specified stages. See Fig 2. Measure and record voltage readings for each stage of applied vacuum. See VACUUM/VOLTAGE SPECIFICATIONS  table. Replace sensor if readings are not within specifications.
