ABS Relay

  1. Disconnect ABS relay connector. See Figure or Figure . Using a DVOM, check continuity between ABS relay terminals No. 1 and No. 6. See Figure. Continuity should be present.
  2. Ensure continuity is present between relay terminals No. 3 and No. 5. Connect DVOM positive lead to relay terminal No. 4. Connect DVOM negative lead to relay terminal No. 5. Ensure continuity is present. Reverse DVOM connections between relay terminals No. 4 and No. 5. Continuity should NOT be present.
  3. Apply battery voltage between relay terminals No. 1 and No. 6. Check continuity between relay terminals No. 2 and No. 5. Ensure continuity is present.
  4. Connect DVOM positive lead to relay terminal No. 4 and negative lead to terminal No. 5. Continuity should be present. Reverse DVOM connections between relay terminals No. 4 and No. 5. Continuity should NOT be present. If continuity readings are not as specified, replace ABS relay.
