Test 5H:Vehicle Speed Sensor Circuit

  1. Remove combination meter enough to gain access to back. Disconnect Gray 10-pin connector "C". Ensure continuity exists between ground and connector "C" terminal No. C10. If continuity is present, verify vehicle speed sensor operation. See VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR IN COMBINATION METER  under COMPONENT TESTING. If speed sensor is okay, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair faulty ground and/or open in harness between connector "C" terminal No. C10 and ground.
  2. Connect combination meter connector "C". Disconnect CC ECU connector. Ensure repeated continuity exists between CC ECU connector terminal No. 20 (Green/Blue wire) and ground as speed sensor is rotated. If continuity repeats, replace CC ECU and retest system. If continuity does not repeat, repair open or short in harness between CC ECU connector terminal No. 20 and combination meter connector "C" terminal No. C10 (Blue/Yellow wire). Or repair open or short in combination meter circuit plate between terminal No. C10 and speed sensor. Or repair open in combination meter circuit plate between terminal No. C10 and speed sensor.
