- Check Hood Courtesy Switch
Check hood courtesy switch operation. See HOOD COURTESY SWITCH under COMPONENT TESTS. If hood courtesy switch operates properly, go to next step. If hood courtesy switch is defective, replace hood courtesy switch.
- Check Hood Courtesy Switch Wiring
Check for defective harness connectors and terminal No. 3 (Blue/Red wire) between anti-theft system Electronic Control Unit (ECU) 22-pin harness connector changing to Sky Blue wire and then Blue/Black wire to terminal No. 1 at hood courtesy switch, and defective harness connectors and White/Black wire between body ground location at right fender apron and hood courtesy switch. See WIRING DIAGRAMS . Anti-theft system ECU is located behind glove box and uses a 12-pin and a 22-pin harness connector. See Figure.
- If harness connectors and wiring are okay, replace anti-theft system ECU. See ANTI-THEFT SYSTEM ECU under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If harness connectors or wiring are defective, repair as necessary.
