Driver's Power Window Motor Circuit Breaker Test: Celica
- Slightly lower driver's window. Disconnect 10-pin harness connector from driver's power window master switch. Connect positive lead of ammeter to terminal No. 6 (Red wire) at master switch connector (harness side). See Figure. Connect negative ammeter lead to negative terminal of 12-volt battery.
- Connect jumper wire between positive terminal and battery and terminal No. 8 (Green wire) at master switch connector (harness side). Window should raise to fully closed position. If window operates correctly, go to next step. If window does not operate correctly, go to POWER WINDOW MOTOR TEST . Continue to apply voltage. Ensure current draw changes from about 14 amps to less than one amp within 4-90 seconds.
- Disconnect leads from terminals. Wait 90 seconds, then connect jumper between positive terminal of battery and terminal No. 6 (Red wire) at master switch connector (harness side), and jumper from negative terminal of battery to terminal No. 8 (Green wire) at master switch harness connector. Ensure window begins to descend. If operation is not as specified, replace power window motor. See POWER WINDOW MOTOR under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. If operation is as specified, power window motor circuit breaker is okay.
