Inspection Procedure

  1. Check voltage between terminals +B and GND of transponder key amplifier connector.

    PREPARATION: 

    1. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
    2. Disconnect the transponder key amplifier connector.

    CHECK: 

    Measure the voltage between terminals +B and GND of the transponder key amplifier connector.

    OK = Voltage: 9-14V 

    1. OK: Proceed to next circuit inspection shown in Problem Symptoms .
    2. NG: Go to next step.

  2. Check EFI1 fuse.

    PREPARATION: 

    Remove the EFI1 fuse from the FL block.

    CHECK: 

    Check the continuity of the EFI1 fuse.

    OK = Continuity 

    1. OK: Go to next step.
    2. NG: Check for short in all harnesses and components connected to EFI1 fuse.

  3. Check harness and connector between transponder key amplifier and body ground. 
    1. OK: Check and repair harness and connector between transponder key amplifier and battery.
    2. NG: Repair or replace harness or connector.
