Glass Breakage Sensor Sensitivity Adjustment
The following procedure is listed for information purposes. Contact the service department at your Toyota dealer to set up an appointment to have them make any necessary adjustments to the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR.
- Locate the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR controller in the vehicle (location varies by vehicle and vehicle model). Disassemble the vehicle as necessary to access the controller.
- Verify the system is in the PASSIVE ARMING ON or OFF mode (not VALET MODE). Program as necessary.
NOTE:
Before adjusting the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR'S sensitivity, confirm that it was adjusted to the vehicle-specific, predetermined level for the vehicle, you may find the proper setting level in the installation instructions for this system.
To test the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR sensitivity:
- Close all doors, windows, and the trunk (or hatch)
- Arm the system with the REMOTE CONTROL.
- With the tip of the ignition key, tap the center of the driver's door window with moderate force (from outside the vehicle).
The RS3000 should be TRIGGERED and the alarm sound for 20 seconds.
If the system does not TRIGGER, the sensitivity may be too low. Tap the driver's door window again with slightly more force; if the system still does not TRIGGER, the sensitivity should be adjusted. Also, the system should not TRIGGER when the driver's door glass is tapped with light force. If this is the case, the sensitivity should be adjusted.
To adjust the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR sensitivity:
- Turn the GLASS BREAKAGE SENSOR CONTROLLER adjustment screw one "click" up (to increase sensitivity), or one "click" down (to decrease sensitivity).
- Re-check the sensitivity as described above.
- Repeat the previous two steps until the desired results are achieved.
NOTE:
Too high of a sensitivity level will result in false "alarms" the RS3000 may TRIGGER for no apparent reason.
