Description & Operation

Keyless entry system allows the doors to be locked and unlocked by the use of low-power electrical waves emitted from a hand held remote transmitter up to approximately 3 feet from the vehicle. Pushing the LOCK button will cause the parking, side marker and taillights will flash and all doors will lock simultaneously. Pushing the UNLOCK button once will turn off the theft deterrent system and unlock driver's door. Pushing the remote transmitter button again within 3 seconds will unlock the other doors. If doors are not opened within 30 seconds, all the doors will automatically relock.

On some models, the wireless remote transmitter can be used to open and close power side sliding door(s). To open, push the POWER DOOR button once and the power door opens. Push the POWER DOOR button again and the power door will close. Door lock control ECU is protected by GAUGE (15-amp) fuse and by DOME (10-amp) fuse located in left kick panel fuse box.
