Self-Diagnostic Test

SELF-DIAGNOSTIC mode reads signals sent between remote transmitter and receiver (incorporated into back door ECU). Responses are displayed by codes flashed from taillights for LOCK, UNLOCK and no recognition of remote transmitter.

To enter SELF-DIAGNOSTIC mode, insert and remove key from ignition switch. Within 5 seconds, insert key and turn ignition switch to ON position and then to OFF position one time. Within 30 seconds, turn ignition switch from OFF position to ON position and then to OFF position 9 times. If taillight goes on for 0.2 seconds, off for 0.2 seconds and on for 0.5 seconds system is now in SELF-DIAGNOSTIC mode.

Check remote transmitter operation by depressing and releasing LOCK button. Taillights should turn on for 0.13 seconds, off for 0.5 seconds and on for 0.13 seconds. Depress and release UNLOCK button. Taillights should turn on for 0.13 seconds, off for 0.25 seconds, on for 0.13 seconds and off for 0.5 seconds. If remote transmitter code is not recognized or transmitter is out of synchronization, taillight will stay on continuously while receiving data. If remote transmitter is not recognized or out of synchronization, register remote transmitter. See VEHICLE ACCESS CODE REGISTRATION  under PROGRAMMING.
