Cruise Control Systems: Operation: Notes
Pressing cruise control ON-OFF (main) switch to ON position activates cruise control system. CRUISE indicator light in instrument cluster comes on to indicate activation of system. To set speed, operate vehicle at a desired speed over 25 MPH. Depress SET/COAST button and release button. Vehicle speed will now be maintained. Vehicle can be temporarily accelerated to a higher speed. When accelerator pedal is released, vehicle will return to preset speed.
Setting cruise control switch to RES/ACC position allows vehicle to return to speed set before cancellation. Depressing cruise control button to RES/ACC position and holding it gradually increases vehicle speed. Depressing cruise control button to SET/COAST position and holding it gradually decreases vehicle speed. If RES/ACC or SET/COAST buttons are depressed and released, vehicle speed will change one MPH.
To cancel preset speed, depress CANCEL button. Preset speed can also be cancelled by depressing brake pedal, place shift lever in "N" position, slow vehicle speed to less than 25 MPH or if vehicle speed drops more than 10 MPH below preset speed.
