Diagnostic Procedure
- Check continuity between terminals of key unlock warning switch assembly, located on ignition lock cylinder. Continuity should be present when key is inserted into lock cylinder. Continuity should not be present when ignition key is removed. If continuity is as specified, go to next step. If continuity is not as specified, replace key unlock warning switch.
- Check continuity of Blue wire between terminal No. 4 of theft deterrent ECU harness connector and terminal No. 2 of key unlock warning switch harness connector. See Figure. If continuity is present, go to next step. If continuity is not present, repair open in Blue wire.
- Check continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (White/Black wire) of key unlock warning switch harness connector. If continuity is not present, repair open in White/Black wire between key unlock warning switch and ground (located at right kick panel). If continuity is present, replace theft deterrent ECU. Retest system.
