Door Unlock Detection Switch

NOTE: Door unlock detection switch may also be referred to as unlock detection switch and is used only on driver's side and passenger's side front doors.

Remove door panel for access to appropriate door lock assembly which contains the door unlock detection switch. See Figure.
Disconnect the 8-pin electrical connector at door lock assembly. Note electrical terminal identification on door lock assembly and switch positions. See Fig 1.
On driver's side front door, using ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between terminals No. 4 and 8 with switch in LOCK position and that continuity between terminals No. 4 and 8 with switch in UNLOCK position. See Fig 1. On passenger's side front door, using ohmmeter, check that no continuity exists between terminals No. 1 and 5 with switch in LOCK position and that continuity between terminals No. 1 and 5 with switch in UNLOCK position. On all applications, replace door unlock detection switch if continuity is not as specified.
