Testing Circuit Breaker Operation

  1. Disconnect lumbar support motor. Using jumper wires, connect positive battery voltage to lumbar support motor terminal No. 1. Connect ammeter positive lead to lumbar support motor terminal No. 2 and ammeter negative lead to negative battery voltage. See Fig 1. As motor turns with voltage supplied, monitor ammeter to ensure voltage changes to less than one ampere within 4-60 seconds and that circuit breaker operation can be heard.
  2. Reverse polarity of battery voltage applied to lumbar support motor and ensure motor turns in opposite direction within about 60 seconds. If lumbar support motor does not operate as described, replace lumbar support motor.
