Cruise Control Failure Warning

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2003 Toyota Camry. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
NOTE: A flashing cruise control light may indicate a Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC). The DTC is derived by counting short flashes in between the long pauses. See Fig 1.

If the "CRUISE" indicator light in the instrument cluster flashes, see Fig 3, when using the cruise control, press the "CRUISE ON-OFF" button, see Fig 2, to turn the system off and then press it again to turn it on.

If any of the following conditions then occurs, there is some trouble in the cruise control system.

If this is the case, manufacture suggests having vehicle checked by a dealer.
