Introduction

Some customers may experience difficulty removing the ignition key from the ignition cylinder, even if the shift lever is in the park position.

The shift lock control assembly has been updated to make operation smoother.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.

Repair Procedure

  1. Confirm that the ignition key cannot be pulled out with the shifter in the park position.
  2. Identify the correct part according to the VIN break.
